IHF awards wild cards for the Men’s World Championship in Germany
The line-up for the 30th IHF Men’s Handball World Championship 2027 in Germany is now complete. On Tuesday, the International Handball Federation (IHF) awarded the two remaining wild cards to Türkiye and Saudi Arabia. As a result, all 32 teams that will compete for the world title in Germany from 13 to 31 January 2027 have now been confirmed. Further information on the allocation of the wild cards can be found on the IHF website.
With the awarding of the wild cards, the field for the World Championship is complete. The preliminary round draw will take place tomorrow, Wednesday 10 June, at the Hofbräuhaus in Munich. The event will be broadcast live from 18:00 (CET) on Joyn and Dyn. Germany will play its preliminary round matches in Group A in Munich.
