Handball World Championship 2027: High Demand for Matches Featuring Germany

Matchdays involving the German national team are particularly in demand. For the preliminary round matches in Munich, regular tickets are currently sold out, with the exception of hospitality packages. The same applies to the main round and a potential quarter-final featuring Germany in Cologne. The ticket contingents released so far for these matches are largely exhausted.

At present, around 75 percent of the overall ticket volume is available for general public sale. Additional contingents are reserved for participating nations, international fan associations, partners and sponsors. Further ticket allocations will be released following the preliminary round draw, which will take place on 10 June 2026 in Munich. After the final group allocation, the qualified nations will receive their respective ticket contingents.

Any tickets not claimed by these allocations will subsequently be returned to general sale, creating additional purchasing opportunities for fans.

World Championship 2027: International Interest and High Capacity Utilization in Several Cities

The strong interest is not limited to matches involving the German team. At other venues, individual matchdays are already in high demand or temporarily sold out. Particular attention is focused on Kiel, where defending champions Denmark are scheduled to play as a seeded team in the preliminary round. Due to the geographical proximity to the Danish border, a large number of international fans are expected. If Denmark advances from the preliminary round, the team would play its main round matches in Hanover.

At the same time, the organizers aim to create the unique World Championship atmosphere at all six host cities. A balanced distribution of spectators across all venues is a key part of this strategy. In Munich, Kiel, Stuttgart, Magdeburg, Hanover and Cologne, attractive conditions are being created for both teams and fans to ensure that the tournament remains an intense and thrilling experience throughout its entire duration.
